  10. WHY VOCATIONAL EDUCATION ARE IMPORTANT?
    Enhancing individual employability;

    Reducing mis-match between demand and supply of skilled manpower;

    Providing an alternative to those pursuing higher education without any aim or purpose.

    To impart training in simple marketable skills to students in Class IX & X;

    To develop vocational interests and aptitudes and to allow for self-exploration of vocational preferences;

    To prepare students for participation in work as a desired dimension of academic education.

    To facilitate the students in making choice of vocational courses at higher secondary level.

    Increased job skill transfer ability

    Increased job stability

    Higher hourly wages compared with those who have only a high school degree

    Actively engaged in problem solving in the working environment

    Hands-on work activities that allow application of knowledge

    Employment opportunities which involve the outdoors

    Leading to employment opportunities which offer greater responsibilities

    Learning new work skills to meet requirements in an ever changing work place

    Learning new skills for changing careers

  11. Er..hi..Wai fong's here..
    Sorry for posting here because the things that i really wanted some advice on is not on the presentation..it's about my current job at a tuition centre..i used the method of fun-learning and student-centred where i focuses on the student's need of enjoying the lesson throughoutly because i really think the way they normally had their lessons are really dull(they were forced to memorize essays and words, not the way to do essays)..we had had fun and they love me as i love them all..but the management people of that centre doesn't agree and are against my way of teaching..the prefer and wanted and are forcing me to only use the teaching-centred manner..it was very very very hard for me to explain to them about my manner of teaching as they don't seem to accept it at all(because they kept quiet a while then reply to me saying that maybe because i had not enough experience to teach yet although i am a good teacher-they cant figured out why the students will like me as my classes are always noisy with their ideas and jokes on the essays taught)..i quite stressful here as i am really out of ideas of which i should follow..there are times where i tried the total teacher-centred manner and it's harder than the learner-centred(for me)..so, please...can anyone help me???

  12. Well,the aim of most tuition centres is to help students 'collect A's'.Usually the management is of the opinion that this can only be achieved through the 'drill' method.
    The only way to prove your point is to show them that results can be obtained using the philosophy you are using.
